Booking rules

Version dated 11 September 2026

A short guide to how booking works on Tamada, what happens after you send a request, and what to do if your plans change. These rules form part of the Terms of Service.

1. How to book

Choose an excursion, pick a date in the calendar (only the guide’s free days are shown), set the number of participants, leave your name and a messenger contact — and send the request. No registration and no bank card needed; it takes a minute.

You can book from tomorrow up to 90 days ahead. Want to go today? Message the assistant — we will try to work something out.

A request is a request, not a finished booking. The guide receives it immediately and usually replies within 2 hours between 09:00 and 23:00 Tbilisi time; a request sent at night is answered in the morning. If there is no reply within 2 hours, the assistant steps in.

The reply arrives in your messenger and on your “My Trip” page, the link to which we send right after your request. There you will find the status, a short booking code like #BDJSLP (quote it to the assistant — it speeds things up), the guide’s contact, and the meeting point and time.

If the guide cannot run the excursion on your date, we will offer another date or another guide. If nothing suits you, the request is closed and you owe nothing.

2. What “confirmed” means

The guide has reserved the day and the car for you (on a private excursion) or seats in the group (on a group excursion). From this moment you and the guide have an agreement on the terms of the excursion page and these rules.

The price is fixed at the moment of your request: if the price on the site changes afterwards, yours stays the same. Prices are in lari; amounts in other currencies are indicative, at the National Bank of Georgia rate.

3. Price, children and payment

A private excursion costs a fixed amount per car — however many of you there are, within the vehicle’s capacity. A group excursion is priced per seat.

A child takes a seat like an adult; there is no separate child price. Count children in the total number of participants and mention their ages in the comment — the guide will bring a child seat if one is needed.

What the price includes is stated on each excursion page. Unless stated otherwise, entrance tickets, food and tastings beyond those listed, personal expenses and tips are not included.

Payment goes to the guide on the day of the excursion, usually in cash in lari. If you would like to pay by card, by transfer or in another currency, arrange it with the guide in advance through the assistant; an amount in another currency is calculated at the exchange rate on the day of payment. There is no prepayment, and Tamada does not take money from travellers.

4. How to change the date or the party

Write to the assistant or to the guide — the contacts are on “My Trip”. Moving to another date is possible with the guide’s agreement, if that date is free. The number of participants can be changed within the vehicle’s capacity; on a group excursion the per-seat price is recalculated. Changes less than 24 hours before the start — by agreement with the guide.

5. Cancellation

You cancel. Free and no questions asked — no later than 24 hours before the start: write to the assistant or to the guide. If you change your mind later, please still write: there are no penalties, but the guide has set the day aside for you and will be able to offer it to others. Cancelling without notice counts as a no-show (see section 6).

The guide cancels. Illness or a broken-down car — it happens. We will offer a replacement guide or another date; if nothing suits you, you cancel with no consequences.

Weather and roads. Mountain roads and passes are sometimes closed, and sites may be inaccessible. The guide will suggest adjusting the route or moving the date. If travelling is unsafe and the excursion does not take place — you pay nothing; if it is cut short en route, payment for the part delivered is agreed with the guide in proportion.

The group did not fill up. We will let you know no later than a day in advance and offer a choice: another date, a private format with a surcharge at the per-car price, or cancellation with no consequences.

6. Late arrival and no-show

The meeting point and time are stated on “My Trip”. The guide waits 30 minutes on a private excursion and 15 minutes on a group excursion. Running late? Message the guide straight away: most often they will wait, but the excursion is shortened by the delay so that the rest of the programme is not lost.

If you have not made contact by the end of the waiting time, it is a no-show: the group leaves, and the guide of a private excursion is free. There is no charge for a no-show, but after a repeated no-show we may decline your next requests.

7. During the excursion

The guide leads the programme and may change the order of stops depending on circumstances — traffic, queues, weather — while keeping its substance. Follow the guide’s instructions on safety. Churches and monasteries have a dress code (covered shoulders and knees; a headscarf for women — usually provided on site). At tastings, know your limits: there is a road ahead.

The guide may stop the excursion if a participant’s behaviour is dangerous or aggressive. Personal belongings are your responsibility; damage to the car or property caused through your fault is compensated to the guide directly.

8. Discounts and partner codes

If you came to the site via a partner’s QR code or link — a guesthouse, a hostel, a guide — the discount shown on the banner (for example, 5%) is valid for 30 days on requests made through the site. It applies to the excursion price, is fixed at the moment of the request and is taken into account when you pay the guide. Discounts do not stack. Terms of other promotions are stated on the promotion page.

9. Review

After the excursion we will ask you for a review — via the link on “My Trip” or the link from your guide. Reviews are checked and published under your name; the rules are in the “Reviews” section of the Terms of Service.

10. If something goes wrong

Message the assistant straight away, ideally on the day of the excursion — that is the fastest way to sort things out. A formal complaint can be sent to admin@tamada.com.ge; we reply within 10 working days.
